Abstract
This study aimed to develop a hospital-based manual for registration system, and to systematically manage the relevant information of hospitalized stroke patients. Data collected from 390 stroke patients who presented to emergency room and were admitted to G Hospital April 2011 through May 2011 were evaluated by 3 sets of criteria: Stroke investigation form, Korea Center for Disease Control and Prevention; Acute stroke investigation form, Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service; Korean Stroke Registry (KSR), Korean Stroke Society. Based on analysis of two-month registration data, the number of parameters with 30% or less registration rate was 10 (12.3% of all parameters). 15 parameters (18.5% of all) showed 30¢¦69% registration rate. Over 70% of registration rate was observed for each of 56 parameters, which accounts for 69.1% of all parameters. A hospital-based manual was developed for stroke patient registration after reviewing medical records, which excluded 10 parameters with lowest concordance, thereby establishing 71 registry parameters out of 81 parameters. accuracy and fidelity in recording are essential to ensure higher registration rate and concordance.
